Big Bass Boat
Big Bass Boat is one of those games I opened planning to try for ten minutes and closed an hour later. You start with a modest boat, a basic rod, and a map full of fishing spots, and the loop is simple: sail out, find a good patch of water, cast, and wait for the tug. The casting is a quick swipe, and reeling in uses a little tension meter you keep in the green by easing off when the fish pulls hard.
What makes it click is how tactile everything feels. The boat drifts with a gentle sway, the water reacts to your line, and landing a genuinely big fish after a long fight is weirdly satisfying. As you go you unlock new lakes, better rods, and boat upgrades that let you reach spots you couldn't before, so there's a steady sense of progress without any pressure.
It's not a demanding game and it doesn't try to be. This is something to play while music's on in the background, and on that front it nails the mood. My only gripe is that later lakes reuse a few too many assets, but the core fishing stays enjoyable throughout.
